T-shirts should be folded neatly in the drawer and never hung. As well as better sweaters, silk, etc as the fabric will pull and stretch. It is in the back of pants that they are most likely to slide down thereby putting additional strain on the belt. The additional loops help spread the downward force helping the belt keep the pants up and keeping keeping that strain from ruining the belt. Originally the button down was active wear. The buttons on the collar as well as the loop on the back are vestigial reminders of the origin of these details. This is only a guess, But I would think if you didn’t have a hangar for the shirt you cold place it on a clothes hook; Which is better than nothing.

Interesting question. I remember as a teenager that there were “loops” on the back of shirts sewn into a seam that was located across the shoulder blades. The game was to try to take the loops off everyone’s shirts. It was a game to collect them. It usually caused a hole in the shirt because you tried to grab it when they weren’t paying attention. I am not sure what the real purpose of the loop but my guess is you can use it to hand it up on a hook. Or it could also just be a decorative item. button is an integral part with respect to designing also. every shirt has different button as per their style. since button can loosen up or they can get broken over a period of usage, so every garment shirt or trouser offered from a good brand / label will have extra button placed either at the bottom of the button placket or on the washcare label.
